Kellen Winslow

Today the Cleveland Browns traded TE Kellen Winslow to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for undisclosed draft picks. Winslow has tons of talent but has struggled with injuries since being drafted by the Browns. He was with the Browns for 5 seasons.

Winslow missed most of his first two seasons with the Browns due to injuries. Although in 2007 he had a great season that was capped off with a Pro Bowl nod. That season he had 82 catches for 1,106 yards.

His time in Cleveland was not only full of injuries it was also full of controversy. At the end of the 07 season he demanded a new contract from the team, and in 08 he called the team for the many outbreaks of Staph. He was doing tricks on his motorcycle in the team parking lot. He had in good year in 06 when he had 89 catches.

Winslow was drafted by Cleveland with the 6th pick in the 2004 draft. He hired Drew Rosenhaus as his agent and Rosenhous wanted this client to be the highest-paid Tight End. The organization thanked Winslow for his 5 years of service to the ballclub and wished him luck in Tampa Bay. Before making this trade he Browns had only 4 picks this April.

This trade comes just two days after he Bucs shocked the whole nation by releasing fan favorites Warrick Dunn, Derrick Brooks, and Joey Galloway. While also releasing WR Ike Hillirad and LB Cato June who was originally brought in to take over for Brooks when he decided it was time to call it quits.

Winslow will probably be the main offensive weapon for the Bucs even though they have their QB position up for grabs right now.
