Yankees Rodriguez Baseball So I am thinking about this whole A-Rod situation and I am not entirely sure what my        stance on it is. Alex Rodriguez publicly admitted to taking performance-enhancing substances from 2001-2003, citing “an enormous amount of pressure to perform”. At first I was a bit disappointed due to the fact that he will eventually shatter some extremely important MLB records which are held by the greatest to ever play the game. If I held the record for most home-runs in MLB history and I found out that A-Rod used steroids and is going to break my record, I’d be pretty pissed. But the truth of the matter is that Alex Rodriguez is one of the best baseball players ever… with or without the juice.

He has been clean for several years now and has continued hitting a high batting average and knocking the ball out of the park. People make mistakes, it happens. He was a kid at the time and EVERYONE in the league was doing whatever they could to get an edge on the others.

Alex Rodriguez is a star… ’nuff said.

Now let me move on to Roy “5.5 ERA” Oswalt. I am watching TV last night and I couldn’t help but notice Roy Oswalt trying to get in the spotlight on behalf of A-Rod. Basically Roy is pissed because A-Rod and others “cheated” and in turn cost him money. Because Roy Oswalt is and always was CLEAN, he believes that the DIRTY players affected his statistics because of the drugs. He went on and said he lost games because of it, gave up more runs, less strikeout, etc..

roy-oswalt-030707You know what I have to say about this Mr. Roy? QUIT YOUR BITCHING! Maybe if you stopped worrying about what others are doing and just concentrated on making yourself the best pitcher you could be you’d get somewhere. I just have a HUGE problem with this guy. I know my baseball, so I do know that he is a great pitcher.. AT TIMES. I’ve had him on my fantasy baseball team over the past couple years, and he is officially known as Roy “5.5 ERA” Oswalt. He’s a strikeout king and he throws the heat, but by the end of the game he has let in 7 runs and lost the game.

Roy, my message to you is this… PRACTICE YOUR PITCHING, STUDY YOUR OPPONENTS, UNDERSTAND WHAT PITCH TO THROW AND WHEN. Stay out of the media and stop taking shots at fellow players who you aren’t even mentioned in the same breath with you. You statistics refelct your pitching ability. Don’t make excuses buddy!

Love,

EALLTHEWAY
